Story of the Narmada

I am Narmada, the oldest river of earth and a life-giver to Madhya Pradesh. Originating from Amarkantak of Madhya Pradesh, I merge into the Bay of Khambhat. My flow is westwards. That is one of the reasons I am placed in the category of inverted flowing rivers. Most of the tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh have lived for centuries and are still living on my banks . In my journey from Amarkantak to Khambhat, I have been nurturing many civilizations and satiated the forests and still constantly flowing.
